history, the $130 million smash hit Lara Croft:
Tomb Raider, with Oscar winner Angelina Jolie
as Lara Croft, arrives on VHS and DVD on November
13 as a Special Collector's Edition, from Paramount
Home Entertainment.
The Special
Collector's Edition DVD of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
not only offers fans the opportunity to follow
Lara as she travels to exotic locales to save
the world, but also more than three hours of interactive
entertainment. Order cut-off for the VHS is October

Home Entertainment is supporting the videocassette
and DVD release of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider with
an extensive consumer advertising push on network
and cable television as well as print ads in PlayStation
Magazine and Expert Gamer, as well as TV Guide,
People, Teen People, Entertainment Weekly, Seventeen,
Maxim and many other magazines in the U.S. and
Canada. In addition, there will be a radio promotion
in the top 100 U.S. and top 9 Canadian markets
and trailering on other Paramount hit titles,
such as The Score and Rat Race.
The DVD
of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is presented in widescreen
format enhanced for 16:9 televisions. The audio
tracks feature Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround
and English and French Dolby Surround. The DVD
is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard of hearing
and sub-titled in English. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
is priced for rental on VHS, while the DVD is
priced to own at $29.99 (S.R.P.) in the U.S. and
C$39.99 (S.R.P.) in Canada.
Lara
Croft: Tomb Raider is rated PG-13 (for action
violence and some sensuality) in the U.S. by the
Motion Picture Association of America and is rated
PG in Canada. It has a running time of approximately
100 minutes and is encoded with the Macrovision
Anti-Copy process.
