ALICIA VIKANDER WAS EXCITED FOR TOMB RAIDER SEQUEL

Academy-award winning actress Alicia Vikander has briefly spoken about the Tomb Raider motion picture sequel that never materialised during an interview with The Playlist on her upcoming period piece drama Firebrand opposite Jude Law.

"I was super excited about doing a second one," Alicia Vikander told The Playlist's The Discourse podcast. "But I think MGM lost the rights. And then it kind of was on hold. And that's where it's been since."

Embracer Group recently announced a new partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios to create new films and TV series based on the popular Lara Croft-helmed franchise, the first of which is a new live action Tomb Raider series coming to Amazon Prime Video. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is attached as writer and executive producer.
