TOMB RAIDER COLLECTION 1 ON EVERCADE ANNOUNCED
[ 17 April 2024 ]
Classic Tomb Raider is coming to the Evercade, a cartridge-based retro gaming system from Blaze Entertainment. The first three Lara Croft-helmed video-games developed by Core Design comprising Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III will be available as a physical cartridge in a bundle titled Tomb Raider Collection 1.
Developed and manufactured by Blaze Entertainment, the Evercade retro gaming system comes in both handheld and console variant. The Evercade EXP-R is a handheld retro gaming system with "full support for the Evercade physical cartridge ecosystem with over 380 games available." The Evercade EXP-R includes Wi-Fi and TATE mode that allows for seamless and comfortable vertical gaming using dedicated buttons.
The Evercade VS-R is a console "designed to be a part of your gaming setup, under your TV or in your gaming den with friends. The four USB ports allow for up to four-player local multiplayer action where supported so you can play together." The console firmware "now includes the option for TATE screen rotation, which means if your monitor or television supports it, you can now play vertical games on a big screen to great effect. WiFi connectivity allows you to update your console firmware with ease."
The Evercade also supports the new Giga Cart cartridge, designed specifically for larger and more modern retro games, mostly originally released on CD. "This new cartridge type will be identical in size and shape to existing carts but will internally have a larger capacity to deliver more demanding titles."
"Evercade brings physical games back to your home. Boxes with printed manuals, the way they used to be. Physical cartridges with games included ready to insert and play - the way you want them to be. Explore over 4 decades of gaming history from home consoles favourites and hidden gems to arcade classics and modern indie retro titles." Blaze Entertainment has announced.
