Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie has told British tabloid newspaper News of the World one of the reasons she accepted the role of Lara Croft in Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider motion picture was the opportunity of working with her father, Jon Voight.

"It took dad and I a long time to sort things out, but the last few years brought us so close that it's like rediscovering this wonderful father." Jolie added: "What an absolute gift it was to work with him on something this special. The fact that he was playing my father in the film was a godsend. I've learnt so much from him about life and now I've learnt even more about acting."

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider exploded across the U.S. June 15th generating $48.2m in ticket sales during its opening weekend before being displaced as Americas most popular film by The Fast and the Furious. U.K audiences will finally see the Core Design action hero strutting her stuff Friday 6th July.
