STAGE AND SCREEN ACTOR JOSS ACKLAND DIES AGE 95

British actor Joss Ackland, who voiced Pieter Van Eckhardt in Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness, has died. He was 95. Born in London, England on 29 February 1928, the actor had a career spanning decades, first appearing on stage in the 1945 production of The Hasty Heart.

Joss Ackland's video-game debut came in 2003, playing Pieter Van Eckhardt, an unscrupulous alchemist bent on mutant production and the orchestration of a repugnant criminal fraternity, opposite Jonell Elliott as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness.

In a mesmerising career spanning more than seventy years, one of Joss Ackland's stand-out moments was winning critical acclaim in 1987 following his portrayal of a decadent aristocrat in Michael Radford's White Mischief, a cinematic masterpiece depicting the exploits of an expatriate community and their social misgivings during World War II.
