RESTRUCTURING PLANS NO IMPACT ON TOMB RAIDER

Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has taken to Twitter to reassure fans following restructuring plans announced by parent company Embracer Group this morning including the closure of some studios and the cancellation of projects that have not yet been announced.

"Thanks to everyone for reaching out and asking about the most recent news by our parent company Embracer Group regarding the restructuring plans. We want to reassure fans that there will be no impact to our continuing efforts with our partners at The Initiative on Perfect Dark, or our next Tomb Raider title being developed in collaboration with Amazon Games." Crystal Dynamics announced on Twitter.

Earlier today Embracer Group announced a comprehensive restructuring program with immediate implementation. As part of the restructuring program, Phil Rogers has been appointed interim Chief Strategy Officer and will remain CEO of the operative group Crystal Dynamics Eidos and Matthew Karch has been appointed interim Chief Operating Officer.

Lara Croft and Tomb Raider are currently under the aegis of U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics who are developing a new multiplatform Tomb Raider title, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally. The as-yet-untitled new Tomb Raider game is a single-player, narrative-driven adventure that continues Lara Croft's story in the Tomb Raider series.
