ALICIA VIKANDER ON REPRISING HER ROLE AS LARA CROFT

Alicia Vikander has given an interview to MovieZine on reprising her role as Lara Croft in a sequel to the rebooted Tomb Raider motion picture. The Academy Award-winning actress says the acquisition of MGM by Amazon coupled with the pandemic has hindered progress.

"I'm good at going back to that role and it would mean a lot of training, yes. But now it's a lot of talk considering that Amazon has bought MGM and after the pandemic there is so much politics, so right now I actually do not really know what is happening."

Prior to the acquisition, Misha Green, executive producer of supernatural series Lovecraft Country on HBO, had been hired by MGM to write and direct the rebooted Tomb Raider motion picture sequel with Alicia Vikander onboard to reprise her role as Lara Croft.
