SQUARE ENIX TO MARK 25 ANNIVERSARY OF TOMB RAIDER

[ 26 January 2021 ]

Crystal Dynamics will mark the 25th anniversary of Tomb Raider in some fashion and has also addressed a recent drought in updates relating to the future of Tomb Raider. Meagan Marie, Senior Community Manager at Crystal Dynamics, sent the following message to fans on Twitter.

"We are working on lots of fun TR25 stuff - just not quite ready to announce yet. One of the reasons I don't usually tease things is because fans build up huge narratives/expectations in their heads & then get disappointed that it isn't what they specifically hoped for. Glad you all are excited though. It's been a busy few months prepping behind the scenes."

The original Tomb Raider was developed by Core Design and released in 1996. Development of Tomb Raider is now under the aegis of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal and has gone on to sell more than 81M units worldwide according to data from Square Enix.
