ALICIA VIKANDER ON PLAYING ARISTOCRAT
LARA CROFT
[ 25 July 2017 ]
Entertainment Weekly has published
an interview with Tomb Raider star Alicia Vikander alongside
a new image of the actress in action as British archaeologist
Lara Croft. The Roar Uthaug-helmed production is produced
by MGN and Warner Bros. with Graham King serving as
producer.
In her interview Alicia Vikander
discusses Lara Croft. "She has all the fierce, tough,
curious, intelligent traits," Vikander says, "but we've
stripped away all of her experience. For one action
scene, we used the London venue for Olympic rafting.
They threw me down that river - with my hands tied -
about 50 times. I didn't need to act, just react!"
From Warner Bros. Pictures and
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, "Tomb Raider" is the story
that will set a young and resolute Lara Croft on a path
toward becoming a global hero. The film stars Oscar
winner Alicia Vikander ("Ex Machina," "The Danish Girl")
in the lead role, under the direction of Roar Uthaug
("The Wave").
