DAISY RIDLEY TO STAR IN TOMB RAIDER?

[ 12 April 2016 ]

Daisy Ridley, the British star of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has confirmed she's been in talks to star in a future Tomb Raider motion picture. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress said there had "been conversations" about the role of Lara Croft. Last month Warner Bros. secured a Tomb Raider domain, leading to speculation the studio might be behind the reboot.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider and The Cradle of Life were released in 2001 and 2003 respectively and performed well at the box office. Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie played British archaeologist Lara Croft alongside real-life father Jon Voight and James Bond star Daniel Craig.

Previously Graham King and MGM were linked to a film reboot of the popular game franchise.
