Further evidence that Square Enix might be about to spectacularly unveil the next Tomb Raider game has surfaced in the form of a trademark application for the mark "A Survivor Is Born". Submitted by Square Enix, the mark is for the computer games classification (and variants thereof), filed Nov. 23, 2010.

U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics have made no secret they are already hard at work on Lara Croft's next incarnation, tentatively titled Tomb Raider 9, and teaser artwork from an upcoming issue of Game Informer may well be a first gimps at the future of Tomb Raider.

Fans on Tomb Raider Forums have been hard at work deciphering the leaked teaser image from Game Informer with popular opinion, supporting an idea from an earlier leaked brief in July 2009, being that Lara Croft will find herself shipwrecked on a island in an brand new open-world adventure.

Square Enix (owners of Eidos) are making no comment, so we'll just have to wait until Game Informer releases on December 6th.
