Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a brand new isometric adventure from Crystal Dynamics, is set for release on Xbox Marketplace tomorrow, August 18 2010. The game stars British heroine Lara Croft who joins forces with Totec in order to fight off an ancient evil threatening to engulf the world in never-ending darkness.

Reception has been very positive and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has consistently scored well with reviewers. 1UP.com say: "Guardian of Light still stands as one of the best multiplayer games on XBLA" while Eurogamer claims: "GoL might be a move away from the Tomb Raider name, but it's a tremendous homage to its spirit."

According to Joystiq: "Crystal Dynamics hasn't just made an exceptional puzzle game, but an excellent platformer" and CVG says: "A retro-inspired shooter that's small in scale but big in entertainment." Online giant IGN says: "This is an extreme makeover for Lara of which you will surely approve."

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is available on Xbox 360 on August 18 2010 and Steam and Sony Playstation 3 on September 28, 2010.
