Eidos
has dispatched two new Xbox 360 screenshots showcasing
action with Lara
Croft in Tomb
Raider Underworld. The action-adventure is
being developed by U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics
and is scheduled for release November 2008 on
all major platforms.
Tomb
Raider Underworld pits Lara Croft in Southern
Mexico where she must unravel the mystery surrounding
the five missing days of the Mayan calendar, an
apocalyptic time when the portals between the
mortal realm and the Underworld dissolve, allowing
ill- intending deities to causing disaster and
mayhem.
The game
courts a slew of new features including a brand
new Next-Gen engine which uses a hybrid lighting
model to combine dynamic lights with carefully
created light maps, making Lara's world look stunning,
alive and immersive.
Olympic
gymnast Heidi Moneymaker is providing the motion
capture for a more fluidic Lara Croft, with much
of the animations being crafted into Tomb Raider
Underworld by hand.
