Spanish video-game magazine Playmania is running a feature on Tomb Raider Underworld littered with pearls on the upcoming Lara Croft-helmed adventure. According to the magazine, Lara Croft will uncover Mjolnir, the hammer wielded by Thor in Norse mythology.

Thor was the bearded God Of Thunder in Germanic paganism and its subset Norse paganism. Mjolnir - the hammer of Thor - was depicted as one of the most fearsome weapons in Norse (Wikipedia). The hammer will unravel clues to the location of Avalon, according to a translation of the magazine on Tomb Raider Forums.

Amanda and Rutland are also reported to be reprising their roles, their own adventures linked to an oceanographic expedition through Atlantis in search of Natla's floating prison. Mexico, the hidden depths of the Mediterranean, Thailand and the Arctic are also mooted as possible locations for Lara Croft in Tomb Raider Underworld.

Eidos has yet to announce any official storyline to accompany Tomb Raider Underworld and remains tight-lipped on speculation of this nature from video-game magazines. Take all of the above with a pinch of salt. However, more will be revealed very soon when the publisher unveils a brand new official Tomb Raider web site, possibly as soon as next week!
