Eidos has filed a second trademark protection request for Tomb Raider Underworld, this time securing the rights to produce a series of Lara Croft collectables. According to the U.S. Trademark Applications and Registrations Retrieval system, the newly filed application is for "toys and games, namely, action figures, stuffed and wind-up toys, board games, action skill games, and arcade games; playthings, namely, play and action figures."

Another interesting point in this trademark application is that of "providing computer games that may be accessed network-wide by network users" which would tie in rather nicely with recent comments by Riley Cooper on utilising the Playstation Network or Xbox Live service in order to distribute video-games.

An original trademark filing back in November 2007 unveiled the name Tomb Raider Underworld as the title of the eighth Lara Croft-helmed adventure, now under the aegis of Crystal Dynamics. Eidos is currently too busy furnishing print media with information to officially announce the game.
