Eidos
Interactive, one of the world’s leading publishers
and developers of entertainment software, has
reached an agreement to acquire the business of
award-winning mobile and casual games developer,
Morpheme Wireless Limited.
Expanding
Eidos' New Media division, the deal will see Eidos
employ Morpheme’s eight members of staff and acquire
the assets of the North London based company.
"We’ve
worked with Morpheme on a number of successful
games already, so we know how well we work together,"
said Simon Protheroe, New Media and IT Director
at Eidos. "It’s great to have Matt and his
team on board in a deal which fully complements
our existing development resources."
Morpheme
is a BAFTA and Develop award winning developer
of mobile and casual PC games, having already
successfully developed a number of titles for
Eidos New Media including; Hitman on mobile phone
and Prism: Light the Way on mobile phone and PC
download.

Wireless Limited. "It will allow us the opportunity
to take our experience, talent and creativity
and elevate it to the next level and to a much
wider consumer audience."
The acquisition
of the Morpheme business follows the recent acquisitions
of mobile development and content providers specialist
Rockpool Games and online distribution specialist,
Bluefish Media.
