Sony
has confirmed Tomb
Raider Legend will be playable on the forthcoming
Playstation 3 video-games console as part of its
commitment to provide backwards compatibility
for older titles.
According
to a list
of more than 1,000 titles, Sony states that
at present there are no outstanding issues with
Tomb Raider Legend. Other Lara
Croft-helmed adventures listed as being compatible
include Tomb Raider Chronicles,
The Last Revelation
and Tomb Raider 3.
Some issues are present with Tomb
Raider II.
Tomb
Raider Legend was released on all console formats
in 2006 and registered record profits for SCi
Entertainment Group, who announced that the
largest contributions to revenues and profitability
were from Tomb Raider Legend, Hitman
Blood Money and the distribution of Lego
Star Wars.
