Veteran Irish rock group U2 have allegedly contacted Tomb Raider movie director Simon West and Oscar winner Angelina Jolie to request appearances in the groups upcoming music video, "Elevation", a reader of Film Force reports today.

"I also know that the director of the movie has been approached to direct the video, and Angelina Jolie has been approached be in the video for Elevation. Apparently, Jolie was interested, but really wanted to take as much time as she could to relax and have time to herself - the shoot for this movie has really exhausted her I hear. So now it's wait and see. Technically, her contract for the movie includes appearances and promotions, which include videos, so it will be interesting to see how everything pans out."

U2 had previously included Tomb Raider star Lara Croft in it's 1997 music video "Hold me, Kiss me, Kill me" and now wants to inject the success of Eidos Interactives record breaking franchise with a second inclusion of Tomb Raider, this time with real life Lara Croft star Angelina Jolie. Film Force also reports that their source indicated U2 might appear on the upcoming Elektra Tomb Raider soundtrack accompanying Fatboy slim, the Chemical Brothers and Moby which releases end of May ahead of the June 15th movie premier.
