Designed for an audience who may have never played a video game before, the game offers players an average of an afternoon or evening’s gameplay from starting to completing the game. The game can be played over and over again achieving better scores and also allows players to divide into teams and challenge one another.

Formerly the preserve of the TV quiz show the Interactive DVD market is growing massively and the release of Lara Croft Tomb Raider : The Action Adventure sees the creation of a new category featuring Interactive DVD games based upon videogame franchises.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider : The Action Adventure is also very competitively priced with a RRP of £14.99. Based on Lara’s Angel of Darkness adventure, the new release sees Lara framed for a crime she did not commit and players will help her struggle to clear her name and solve an exciting mystery of betrayal and vengeance.

Gameplay features puzzle solving and non-stop action adventure. Lara Croft Tomb Raider : The Action Adventure also reunites well known games industry figure and Bright Entertainment CEO Dominic Wheatley with Lara Croft.

Dominic was at Eidos when Tomb Raider was launched in 1996. “We have developed this game to give the family a great entertainment experience and to take the excitement of Lara Croft to a wider audience” says Wheatley. “It’s fantastic fun for family and friends and for the first time gives everyone with a DVD player the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Tomb Raider phenomenon.”

In addition to the UK, Bright Entertainment has announced that the release will be distributed in the United States, France, Germany, Austria and Italy with more territories to follow. The company is also in discussions with other games franchise holders to release further blockbuster video games onto the Interactive DVD format.
