Government officials in Pakistan have halted filming of a new Angelina Jolie-helmed pic after it was discovered the crew were shooting scenes in Islamabad and Karachi - as well as the countryside - without government permission

In a statement released to the Pakistani Daily Times a government official said: "No request by the film unit to shoot in Pakistan had been made to the embassy."

The former Tomb Raider beauty will next been seen opposite Matt Damon and Robert De Niro in Eric Roth's The Good Shepherd, which is due for release later this year. Jolie has also been linked to Sin City 2 - as heroine Ava Lord - which is currently in pre-production.
