Online has linked computer games publisher
Empire Interactive with SCi
Entertainment Group citing Empire as in "advanced
takeover discussions with SCi Entertainment, which
owns the multimillion-selling Tomb
Raider franchise starring Lara
Croft."
SCi announced
on Monday a placing of 3,471,920 new ordinary
shares of 5 pence each (the 'Placing Shares')
for cash with institutional investors at a price
of 500 pence per share (the 'Placing'). The Placing
Shares represent 5 per cent of the current issued
share capital of the Company.
SCi declined
to comment on Empire Interactive yesterday, but
a spokesperson for the company said it was "keen
to grow by acquisition and by organic means."
