Janet Jackson has emerged (once again) as search behemoth Google's most search for term in 2005. Hurricane Katrina, Tsunami, Xbox 360 and Brad Pitt placed second to fifth respectively with Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie securing the ninth most searched for term in Google's annual summary of trends.

Although Jackson's much publicised "wardrobe malfunction" occurred at the 2004 Superbowl, she still managed to top that of her brother Michael despite the fact that his much publicised legal troubles were played out during 2005.

Popular items searched for in Google's shopping channel Froogle include Apple's iPod, Sony PSP and iPod Nano. Top gainers for 2005 include Myspace, Ares, Wikipedia and Leonardo da Vinci.
