Armenian
archaeologists have discovered burial mounds 35
miles west of the Armenian capital Yerevan dating
back to the third millennium B.C., Associated
Press reports today. Trinkets and beads belonging
to ancient Aryan nomads were unearthed, along
with beads and glazed pottery.
The Aryans,
who later became known as Persians, were largely
grassland nomads who settled in what is today
Iran and eventually in parts of India. Aryan culture
lived alongside IV culture and absorbed elements
of it.
