SCi Entertainment Group Plc has recorded a pre-tax loss of £14 million as the UK firm continues to assimilate Eidos into its corporate profile. Results for the nine months to 30 June 2005 include the results for SCi for the nine month period to 30 June 2005 and the results of the Eidos Group for the seven week period from the effective date of acquisition (16 May 2005) to 30 June 2005.

Highlights include: Acquisition of Eidos plc effective from 16 May 2005 makes SCi the largest UK computer and video games publisher and a leading player in the global video games industry. Change in year-end to 30 June following the acquisition results in a pre-tax loss of £14.0 million after exceptional charges, which is 7% better than the market expectation of a loss of £15.1 million.

The Group has traded well since the acquisition of Eidos. Strong performances from Championship Manager and the distribution of Lego Star Wars means that Eidos made an operating profit of £1.6 million in the seven period from acquisition to 30 June 2005.
