CAMBODIAN CITIZENSHIP

Cambodian
officials have granted citizenship to Academy
Award winner Angelina
Jolie in recognition of her work in the region
on behalf of UNHCR. Jolie, who filmed in Cambodia
while shooting Lara
Croft Tomb Raider, also adopted a baby boy
in 2002 and has donated two million dollars in
aid.
A legal
document seen by AFP
and signed by King Norodom Sihamoni "provides
Cambodian nationality to Angelina Jolie, an American
born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, USA."
Toun
Siphan, director of the government's international
relations department said: "She was so happy,
she loves Cambodia and wants to help. She said
she would come to Cambodia when she received her
citizenship."
