announced today the 10 most searched for celebrities
for the week of June 20-June 26, 2005. The numbers
reflect the amount of interest their entries in
the celebrity encyclopedia earned in the week.
Tennis
beauty Maria Sharapova led all searches on interest
sparked by the defense of her Wimbledon title.
Fellow tennis idol Anna Kournikova came in second
despite not participating in the tournament. Pop
singer Jessica Simpson was the third most searched
for celeb, with Paris Hilton's mom, Kathy Hilton,
coming in fourth on the debut of her reality TV
show.
Men's
magazine model Vida Guerra was the fifth most
sought after, while R&B diva Beyonce Knowles came
in sixth. Last week's leader Angelina Jolie followed
in seventh, with "Herbie" star Lindsay Lohan in
eighth. "Star Wars" actor Hayden Christensen was
the ninth most searched for, with superstar socialite
Paris Hilton rounding out the top ten.
New entries
on Celebopedia this week include Regina Spektor,
B5, The Click Five, Natasha Bedingfield, Teairra
Mari, Paula Creamer, Jewel Staite, Gina Torres,
Summer Glau, Sean Maher, Tyson Beckford, Ethan
Hawke, Marguerite Moreau, Daniela Hantuchova,
Cindy Margolis, Denise Van Outen, Bam Margera,
Matt Lauer, Katie Couric, Alicia Silverstone,
Abi Titmuss, Melissa Joan Hart, Dominique Swain,
