Dundee-based Dynamo Games has scored a licensing deal to develop Eidos' Championship Manager 5 for the mobile platform. Dynamo was set up by three Dundee University computing graduates who planned to work on databases and the internet but were advised by the university to move into the mobile computer games market, Scottish Mail reports this morning.

Simon Protheroe, Eidos' director of new media and online technologies, said: "This deal represents a great opportunity to make Championship Manager a constant part of every football fan's life. Dynamo Games has done a great job developing what will be the perfect complement to the PC and console versions of Championship Manager 5."

Managing director McNicoll said: "We are all massive fans of Championship Manager and football, and I think our enthusiasm shone through for Eidos. We have learned a lot more from this than we would have working for a large company, and I think we are a lot more geared up to doing things properly."
