North America. Starring Tomb Raider beauty Angelina
Jolie and Brad Pitt, Doug Liman's tale of a bored
married couple surprised to discover they are
both assassins hired to kill each other sets a
new opening record for both actors.
DreamWorks'
Madagascar netted $17.1 million, and Star Wars
Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith garnered an additional
£14.9 million on top of the $641 million already
collected. George Lucas' interstellar trilogy
becomes the biggest grossing movie franchise in
history, seeing off competition from Peter Jackson's
Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter.
