Copyright 2005 Jesper Kyd Press Release
[ April 14th 2005 ]
BAFTA
award-winning composer Jesper Kyd has partnered
with Hollywood film soundtrack label La-La Land
Records to release the original score from the
first Hitman video game, Hitman: Codename 47.
The 2-disc set also features a re-mastered version
of the classic symphonic score to Hitman 2: Silent
Assassin, regarded as some of the best music ever
recorded for the genre.
Presented
here in its first official CD release, the soundtrack
from Hitman: Codename 47 features Kyd's dynamic
blend of electronic and cinematic music - which
he developed further on the darker, BAFTA award-winning
Hitman: Contracts score - and is the latest collectable
for fans of the best-selling Hitman games.
The Hitman
2: Silent Assassin score, recently celebrated
in GameSpot's A History of Video Game Music: The
Hitmen of Budapest, was recorded with 110 musicians
of the Budapest Symphony and Choir. In 2004, the
music of Hitman 2 was performed during the "GC"
Game Music Symphony concert in Europe, the first
event series of its kind outside of Japan.
The Hitman
series is developed by IO-Interactive and published
by Eidos. Jesper Kyd is currently scoring the
latest installment in the multi-million selling
series, Hitman: Blood Money.
