ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) has today confirmed that it will recognise excellence in computer and video games marketing, announcing its sponsorship of the Best Marketing Team Award at this year's MCV Industry Excellence Awards, the UK industry's high profile event that recognises individual, team and company accomplishments of the last 12 months. Now celebrating its third year, the distinguished annual ceremony unfurls the red carpet on Thursday 7th April at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London, to nearly 600 games industry executives from the field of publishing, marketing and retail.

Roger Bennett, director general of ELSPA, said: "ELSPA has long been committed to recognising the achieivements made by the people who work in our industry. By sponsoring the Best Marketing Team award, we acknowledge the immense contribution that innovative marketing has made in galvanising public awareness of the UK's most dynamic creative industry." ELSPA's continued support of the MCV Industry Excellence Awards augurs well for an event increasingly seen as one the most significant in the games industry calendar, which has this year been expanded to accommodate a broader sweep of industry accomplishments.

Finalists in the Best Marketing Team category for this year's awards are: THQ, Sony, Electronic Arts, Activision and Ubisoft.
