Infospace,
Inc. today demonstrated its intentions in the
mobile games sector by launching the Infospace
Games product line, which publishes, powers and
develops a unified portfolio of games from the
recently acquired Atlas Mobile, IOMO and elkware
catalogues. By capitalising on its core business
strengths and leveraging its new gaming assets,
Infospace has established itself as a key player
in this burgeoning industry.
With
analysts projecting that the mobile games market
will become a multi-billion-dollar business in
the next five years, Infospace Mobile has been
quick to recognise the business potential in this
rapidly evolving sector. Infospace Games will
be a part of Infospace Mobile, a leading provider
and publisher of mobile entertainment services,
including personalization products like ringtones,
realtones, ring back tones, video ringers and
graphics.

Infospace
Games will leverage the unique characteristics
and synergistic portfolios of Infospace's three
development studios- Atlas Mobile for multiplayer
and tournament "for prizes" formats, elkware for
its role-playing genre, 3D and handset porting
technologies, and IOMO for its casual, sports
and action expertise. In addition, Infospace will
leverage its existing platform integration skills
to offer operators end-to-end solutions bringing
compelling content, network capabilities and operator
billing integration to enable subscription offerings.
Infospace
Games publishes, powers and develops original
and branded J2ME and Brew games such as the BAFTA
nominated Scooby Doo, Tomb Raider, Tiger Woods
PGA Tour Golf and Colin McRae Rally 2005, Pub
Pool, Pub Darts , Anno 1503, Port Royale, The
X-Files , Swat Sniper and "For Prizes" games,
including Tetris Tournament for Prizes and Ms.
Pac-Man for Prizes.
