Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the release of Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow on R2 DVD from 21 February, 2005. Shot entirely in front of blue screens and employing state-of-the-art visual affects, Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow captures the imagination and takes the audience back in time to an era of dashing heroes and glamorous women. The gothic landscapes of pre-war New York provide a dazzling backdrop against which the cast brilliantly evoke the style and drama of the comic-book era which the film is based upon.

Set in 1939 New York, a reporter notices that the world's most famous scientists are disappearing. Determined to solve their mysterious disappearances, she seeks the help of her ex-boyfriend, the captain of a mercenary legion of pilots. Just as they are investigating the case, the town is attacked by a league of giant robots. Do the scientists' disappearances have anything to do with the attack? And can the reporter and the Sky Captain save the world.

DVD harnesses the acting prowess of Angelina Jolie, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow and features an anamorphic transfer along with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, deleted scenes, gag reel, 6 featurettes and 2 commentary tracks.
