Bee-stung lipped beauty Angelina Jolie has scored at The People's Choice Awards by picking up a gong for Best Female Action Movie Star for her role as video-game archeologist Lara Croft in Paramount Pictures' Lara Croft Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life, Yahoo! reports.

The 31st Annual People's Choice Awards - hosted by Jason Alexander and Malcolm-Jamal Warner - covered 38 film, television and music categories, with nominations determined by editors at Entertainment Weekly, the People's Choice production team and a panel of pop culture fans.

Controversial film makers Mel Gibson (Passion Of The Christ) and Michael Moore (Fahrenheit 9/11) won top honours, with Julia Roberts picking up Best Female Movie Star and Johnny Depp scoring the male counterpart. The ceremony was presented at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and broadcast live on CBS.
