Assault on Precinct 13, the remake of the 1976 thriller directed by John Carpenter, will get a score composed by Graeme Revell. The New Zealand-born composer, whose best known scores include From Dusk Till Dawn, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Crow, here works for the first time with French director Jean-Francois Richet but reunites with writer James DeMonaco who scripted The Negotiator, scored by Revell in 1998.

Revell, by the way, is doing some screenwriting of his own. As revealed earlier by Music from the Movies, the composer has been working on a script entitled The Teargarden. Assault on Precinct 13, starring Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne, Maria Bello, John Leguizamo and Gabriel Byrne, is scheduled to premiere on 21 January 2005.
