Eidos Plc has announced the release of the PC version of Championship Manager 5 will not now take place in October. In a statement released this morning, Eidos said it is continuing to work towards release of the PC version of the game shortly before Christmas, although this may extend into the New Year. The much anticipated XBox and PS2 versions of Championship Manager 5 remains firmly on track for release in Spring 2005 and the online version will be available through subscription shortly after the PC game's release.

The company has also said it is continuing talks over a possible sale and is currently "in the process of selecting a preferred counterparty." The computer games developer said in a statement there can be no certainty at this stage whether or not the talks will lead to an offer being made for the company.
