Model
Nell McAndrew today championed London’s 2012 Olympics
effort by raising the first of hundreds of Back
the Bid flags. On the same day of the opening
ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens,
the Leeds-born model posed for photographers with
the huge flag and with Buckingham Palace as backdrop.
The brightly coloured London 2012 flags will be
flying along The Mall, Horse Guard’s Parade and
Parliament Square Green in the capital to publicise
the city’s bid for the games.
McAndrew,
who also carried the Olympic torch on its journey
through London earlier this year, attracted crowds
of tourists as she posed on a bright yellow cherry
picker with the huge flag on The Mall. Earlier
this year the sporty model ran along the same
road to complete the London Marathon for charity.
