Model
Nell McAndrew jumped back into her running shoes
last night to kick off a cancer charity run. Only
weeks after completing the London marathon in
an impressive three hours and 22 minutes, McAndrew
led the way in the first Race For Life 2004. The
5km women-only run is one of 150 such races taking
place around the country in aid of Cancer Research
UK.
At least
8,000 women joined in last night’s fund-raising
challenge. McAndrew was joined at the starting
line in Battersea Park, south London, by former
Olympian and TV presenter Sally Gunnell and model
Normandie Keith. The organisers of Race For Life
2004 - which started in 1994 - hope to raise £20
million for Cancer Research UK.
