It's
Game Over for the Smashenburn family. UPN is reportedly
pulling the plug on Prime Time's first every CGI
animated series Game Over after the show racked
in an embarrassing 0.9 rating/2 share in households
and a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 according to
fast national data. Lara Croft, the Tomb Raider
herself, had been drawn into a guest appearance
alongside Raquel to have a heroine heart-to-heart
over an espresso.
The groundbreaking
comedy, set within the animated world of a video-game,
followed the home life of the Smashenburn family:
Rip (voiced by Patrick Warburton), Raquel (Lucy
Liu), Alice (Rachel Dratch) and Billy (E.G. Daily).
Show had been penned to run for an initial six
episodes with a second series starring Lara Croft
under consideration. Producer David Goetsch had
hoped the comedy complemented the UPN brand, appealing
to a young adult audience. No official comment
from UPN at time of press.
