Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie has renewed a promise to return to Afghanistan to help its people rebuild their country. Since she was named UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina Jolie has worked tirelessly towards building advocacy and support for refugees and their assistance and protection. Speaking from her personal experience, Ms. Jolie will reach out to the press, the diplomatic community and the nation’s lawmakers to raise awareness about and support for refugees.

She said: "I feel the media has shifted focus to Iraq and I want us not to forget the promises made. The needs of the people of Afghanistan and commitments to help properly rebuild the country should be met. A lot of people hold negative views about refugees without bothering to know the facts."
