CEO Mike McGarvey has briefly commented on the
new Tomb Raider video game currently being developed
by Crystal Dynamics during a conference call with
Ziff Davies Media Inc as part of the company's
bi-annual trading update. "We saw a new version
of Tomb Raider for the first time last week at
our development meeting and we were extremely
impressed with the progress that's been made so
far," said McGarvey.

Legendary
game designer Warren Spector has been tapped to
lend a hand in producing the forthcoming Tomb
Raider video game currently under development
by U.S. based studio Crystal Dynamics, fuelling
rumours of a collaborative effort between Ion
Storm Entertainment and the studio charged with
the immeasurable task of restoring order and prosperity
back into the Tomb Raider franchise.

30th 2003 - TOMB RAIDER FRANCHISE AWARDED TO CRYSTAL
DYNAMICS
On 15
July, Eidos plc announced that Jeremy Heath-Smith
was stepping down as its Development Director
and as Managing Director of Core Design. Since
then, the Board has been conducting a review of
the Tomb Raider franchise and the studio operations
of Core Design. In recognition of the Company's
need continually to enhance the value and maximise
the commercial opportunity of one of its key franchises,
for which all intellectual property rights belong
to Eidos, the Board has concluded that it will
transfer development of the franchise to its Crystal
Dynamics studio in the US.
