British digital data distributor Tornado Group Plc said on Monday it would take part in digital distribution trials for games made by British computer games maker Eidos Plc. The two companies will work with retailers to protect intellectual property and branding without affecting flexibility and ease of use for game players, Tornado said in a statement.

Eidos, famous for its Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft, is the latest games software maker Tornado has brought into play as it seeks to take a lead in the downloadable games market. Tornado has recently announced digital distribution trials with other key games makers such as Electronic Arts , Rage Software,, Midas Interactive and GSP as well as EMI and Virgin for downloading music.
