Angelina
Jolie will play an accomplished aviatrix in "The
World of Tomorrow," an independently financed
sci-fi thriller that also stars Jude Law and Gwyneth
Paltrow. The pre-WWII adventure tale stars Jolie
as a pilot matched with a swashbuckling colleague
(Law) and a probing journalist (Paltrow). Giovanni
Ribisi and Bai Ling are also in talks to join
the film. Shooting starts in March in London.
The picture
marks the directorial debut of Kerry Conran, who
wrote the script. Jon Avnet is producing with
Marsha Oglesby, Law and his wife, Sadie Frost.
It is being financed by Italian-based producer
Aurelio De Laurentiis Jolie will next be seen
in "Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life," which
Paramount will release on July 25, followed by
"Beyond Borders," the Martin Campbell-directed
drama that co-stars Clive Owen and will see release
late this year.
