SEQUEL VILLAIN ROLE

According
to the official Simon Yam web site, the Hong Kong
born actor has accepted a role in the upcoming
sequel to Paramount Pictures' blockbuster Tomb
Raider (2001) starring Oscar winner Angelina Jolie.
Yam, with over 125 movies and 35 television roles
packed into a portfolio spanning 25 years, will
star opposite Jolie in Par's The Cradle Of Life
as Lara Croft's evil adversary Chen Lo, responsible
for orchestrating a battalion of henchmen in possession
of a magical crystal relentlessly sought by the
British aristocrat.
Simon
Yam began filming in England on October 21st before
flying out to Hong Kong where large portions of
the movie have been shot against the panoramic
backdrop of Victoria Harbour. According to the
site, when quizzed on his salary for the movie,
he smiled. and would only disclose that the sum
was more than he would get in Hong Kong. He added
that his main concern is perfecting his English
pronunciation and grammar.
Lara
Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life chronicles
the adventures of British aristocrat Lara croft
sent on a perilous mission to rescue the world
from the exploits of an evil Chinese crime syndicate
led by oriental crime lord Chen Lo. The movie
opens with an explosive underwater action scene
involving a desperate struggle for a sacred ancient
spear guarded by Chen Lo's evil henchmen and a
mission to overthrow new villain Reiss from deploying
an army of biological drones to wreak havoc on
the world.
