Former Paris model and Gladiator star Djimon Hounsou will star opposite Angelina Jolie in Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel which began shooting at London's Pinewood Studios in July. The South African born actor's recent celluloid accolades include Stargate, Unlawful Entry with guest appearances on Beverly Hills 90210 and ER. Hounsou also made a cameo appearance on Janet Jackson's Love Will Never Do Without You music video.

Tomb Raider II, tentatively named The Cradle Of Life [working title], chronicles the adventures of British aristocrat Lara Croft who is sent on a perilous mission to rescue the world from the exploits of an evil Chinese crime syndicate led by oriental crime lord Chen Lo. The original Simon West-helmed video-game adaptation garnered more than $230 million in revenue worldwide, coining $48 million during its domestic opening weekend and remains the highest ever box-office earner for a female-driven movie.
