DOMINATES AGAIN
Copyright 2002 Sold Out Press Release
[ May 26th 2002 ]
Sold
Out has reaffirmed its position as the leading
publisher of affordable PC titles, with ten titles
from its 4.99 range included in Chart Track's
budget chart for June - with Sold Out also clinching
the coveted first and second positions. Sold Out
is widely recognised as a pioneer in the field
of affordable PC titles. It single-handedly created
the Super Budget market, offering first-run, well-known
PC titles for less than five pounds and releases
six new titles every month.
The June
figures now reflect Sold Out's dominance in the
budget sector, with its ten titles earning the
Islington-based publisher an enviable 50% market
share. The recently released Tomb Raider III:
The Adventures of Lara Croft has given Sold Out
yet another chart Number One; with its predecessor,
Tomb Raider II, close behind in second position.
Sold Out also boasts a further three titles in
the top ten, with Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines,
Thief 2: The Metal Age and the original Tomb Raider
also figuring. Incredibly, the first Tomb Raider
has enjoyed over a year as part of the Sold Out
range, yet is still comfortably positioned as
a top ten title.
Sold
Out's dominance then continues with Worms 2, Gangsters:
Organised Crime, TOCA 2, the GTA/GTA London double-pack
and Pharaoh featuring in the top twenty titles,
rounding off a stunning summer for the Super Budget
publisher. "We are extremely proud to see Sold
Out dominating the charts like this," commented
Managing Director Garry Williams.
"We have
worked hard to bring the consumer the very best
games for the very best prices. Having ten games
in the top twenty proves that we are obviously
heading in the right direction. Whilst our rivals
concentrated on the easy part of publishing namely
signing titles Sold Out have focused on making
sure we sell them, widely expanding our distribution
and sales. As the chart shows if you want to make
sales you should be with Sold Out "We will not
be resting on our laurels, though," he added,
"and will continue to deliver six, high quality
titles every month - the next stage is to have
ten Sold Out games in the top ten!"
