Eidos
Interactive, one of the world's leading publishers
and developers of entertainment software, announces
Way of the Samurai on PlayStation 2. The game
reached No.1 in the Japanese gaming charts when
it was released in February this year. Licensed
from Japanese publisher Spike Co. Ltd, Way of
the Samurai will be released in September in Europe
and Australasia only.
Way of
the Samurai is a samurai adventure game developed
by Japanese-based Acquire, the developer of the
first two titles in the acclaimed Tenchu series.
The game takes place in feudal Japan as you take
on the role of a wandering samurai who is drawn
into a conflict between two warring factions.
As you encounter both sides, you must begin to
make choices that will shape the outcome of the
conflict. Way of the Samurai is the first true
multi-path adventure; the story is determined
by the player's actions, each decision and action
affecting the outcome of the game. The game features
realistic sword combat where you can master up
to 40 different swords featuring 200 unique fighting
stances and attacks.
Jonathan
Kemp, European managing director of Eidos Interactive

Samurai has been designed with the vision of creating
