DEVELOPS BREED
Copyright 2002 Meode Productions Press Release
[ June 13th 2002 ]
Tomb
Raider composer, Nathan McCree has been appointed
to design and develop the music and sound for
Breed, the cutting-edge science fiction shoot-em
up, and debut game of Brat Designs Ltd. Nathan
who is most well known in the computer games industry
for his work at Core Design (in particular Tomb
Raider 1, 2 and 3) is teaming up with an ex Core
colleague and graphic designer Jason Gee, now
director and co-founder of Brat Designs Ltd.
After
leaving Core Design, Nathan set up Meode Productions,
a music and sound production company and has since
worked with high profile names such as the Spice
Girls, and Orange. He comments on the Breed project:
"Its great to be working with Jason again, who
has created such groundbreaking and good selling
games as Thunderhawk and Jaguar XJ220. Breed is
definitely set to the go the same way. As soon
as I saw the game in development I knew the style
of music I wanted to write. Fortunately when I
told Jason I wanted to write a score which is
a cross between Bladerunner and Platoon, he was
thrilled!"
Breed
is a multiple 3D-action game, being developed
for PC and Xbox and is due to be published by
CDV in August 2002. It skilfully blends addictive,
accessible, free roaming game-play with cutting
edge, state-of-the-art technology to expand not
only the gameplay potential, but also the player’s
perceived freedom within the game world.
Jason
Gee explains why he appointed Nathan for the Breed
project: "Breed needed music and sound which would
take it to another dimension, and from our work
at Core Design together I knew Nathan would be
the man for the Job. Nathan’s music heightens
game play to such a degree that it allows the
gamer to become totally absorbed in the world
of the game."
