Fighting Fantasy gamebook author Ian Livingstone has developed a PC game called Beach Life and a range of his and Steve Jackson's Fighting Fantasy books are to be re-launched in June. One of Livingstone's works, Deathtrap Dungeon, was turned into a successful video game when he joined Tomb Raider designers Eidos.

His new game involves building and maintaining a holiday environment with bars, clubs, shops and amusements. It will be released in August through Eidos - for which he now works as a chairman. The original Fighting Fantasy book Warlock Of Firetop Mountain will be re-released on June 3 alongside later titles like Creature Of Havoc and The Citadel Of Chaos. Further titles will be re-released in July and October by Wizard Books.

Livingstone said: "It's really great news that Fighting Fantasy is being published again. Hopefully the interactivity of the books set in a world of dark fantasy will appeal to the computer generation. And for PC gamers wishing to relive their Ibiza experiences, then Beach Life should make them smile."
