Irish rock group U2 have been nominated for a prestigious Music Video Production Association award for their Elevation single which appeared in Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider motion picture. The prestigious annual MVPA Award Show is the only awards forum within the industry of music video production that recognizes the technical and creative artisans of the industry.

The MVPA was created to recognize music video as an art form, ensuring that the industry maintains a high standard of professionalism and artistic excellence by honouring its visionaries through a selective panel of industry members. The nominees are selected and judged by their peers, who review hundreds of videos submitted for consideration.

This year will mark the 11th Anniversary for the MVPA Annual Music Video Awards, and it is the hope of the organization to establish further exposure and awareness of the event and the exceptional creative forces within the industry. The gala ceremony to take place at Hollywood's new home to the Academy Awards, the grand ballroom at the Kodak Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on May 22, 2002.
