EIDOS TOUTS
BACKYARD WRESTLING 2
Eidos
one of the world's leading publishers and
developers of entertainment software, today
announced its return to the world of extreme
wrestling with Backyard Wrestling 2: There
Goes The Neighborhood. The sequel to the
genre- bending phenomenon Backyard Wrestling:
Don't Try This At Home, Backyard Wrestling
2: There Goes The Neighborhood is currently
in development by Paradox and will be available
for videogame consoles including the Xbox(R)
video game system from Microsoft in the
Fall of 2004 in North America.
"Harnessing
the power of the Enviro-Mental(TM) gameplay
engine, Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes
The Neighborhood will continue blazing the
trail of unprecedented environmental interaction
and over the top violence," says Kevin Gill,
Brand Manager at Eidos. "The inclusion of
online play will finally allow gamers to
deliver pain to opponents from around the
world. With its completely re-designed and
expanded create-a-wrestler system, an impressive
new grappling system, more diverse move-set,
solid hardcore soundtrack, and online play,
BYW2 offers the complete wrestling package
this Fall."
Eidos
has partnered with Quazal to incorporate
online play into Backyard Wrestling 2. Quazal's
SyncSim for Net-Z engine is a deterministic
networking system, allowing stations to
connect and play against each other with
no chance of divergence. So, when gamers
have got an opponent lined up for a moonsault
off of a ladder, and timing is critical,
they know that everything is synchronized
perfectly between the connected stations.
